The Verona Area School District is looking for a strong equity-centered instructional leader, cultural changer and community builder to join our progressive school district as of July 1, 2022, as the Principal of Core Knowledge Charter School. The Verona Area School District (VASD) is a PreK – 12 public school district of approximately 5,800 students located near Madison, WI. VASD is a growing school district with 10 schools including three charter schools and a two-way immersion Spanish program. Our incredible VASD student body is 38% non-white, 28% receive free or reduced lunches, 14% percentage are English Learners and 8% receive special education services. Our staff is 800+ strong between all positions including full and part time. The school district is comprised of 10 buildings including a new state of the art, 600,000 square foot high school on a 160-acre campus that opened in September of 2020. We have a total of 1.5M square feet under roof on nearly 325 total acres.
As a public charter school, Core Knowledge Charter School was started in 1996 with a focus on strong learning skills and a broad base of knowledge through the use of proven educational material through Core Knowledge curriculum.
Students, teachers, and families form a partnership for learning with strong relationships and involvement and support by families in the classroom.

Bilingual skills are highly valued but not a requirement for this position.
Salary, Benefits, Length of Contract: This position works a year round (12 month) contract with starting compensation that is negotiable but will be no less than $122,801 with an exceptional benefits package.
