Duties of Position: Develop and implement lessons which reflect the district curriculum and integrate age and developmentally appropriate practices for elementary students in a manner that invites learning. Responsible for the social and emotional well-being of students. Must believe in and continuously support the mission and vision statements of the Sparta Area School District and support our professional learning community. Special Skills/Education Required/Preferred: Must be certified or eligible to be certified to teach by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Must be able to develop a strong working relationship with colleagues in a professional learning community where all staff members are responsible for all children. Collaboration with colleagues is a must, as well as the ability to prepare for a variety of flexibility on a daily basis. Must be willing and able to integrate technology on a daily basis, all students have iPads. Strong background in current teaching strategies and methodology in math, literature, grammar, and reading instruction. *Lucy Calkins Units of Study, Reading *Lucy Calkins Units of Study, Writing *Math Expressions *Response to Intervention *Positive Behavior Interventions and Support *Interdisciplinary Teaching Strong background in learning theory and elementary philosophy.
