Full Time
The Howards Grove School District is looking to hire a full-time administrative assistant for Northview Elementary School. This is a 12-month position working 7:45 am-4:15 pm, Monday-Friday. Responsibilities include assisting the school principal and staff members; students and parents; managing student records including enrollments, withdrawals, grades, report cards, and scheduling. Attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills are a must. Record Keeping/Office Management Skills • Answer phones, greet parents, family members, and community members. • Monitor guest and visitor sign in. Communication/Interaction Skills • Be able to prioritize, handle multiple assignments and manage time so that tasks are accomplished within deadlines. • Able to interact tactfully, effectively and courteously with district staff and other individuals encountered on the job. • Treat every phone call requesting help promptly and courteously. • Be attentive, pleasant and focused on duties and responsibilities at all times. • Exercise full discretion when dealing with confidential student and personnel information. • Maintain affirmative attitude and positive demeanor at all times particularly when responding to citizen/parent complaints, school concerns or requests for information. Student Health and Safety • Manage health room including medication record keeping, storage, delivery of medication or medical testing as trained. • Maintain confidentiality. • Make home contact for ill students. • Supervise ill students. Excellent communication/interaction skills. Attention to detail and organization. Flexibility and willingness to assist in a variety of educational areas. Possess a high level of self-motivation. Computer knowledge and experience required. Knowledge of Skyward helpful. High school diploma required. Acceptable Background Check required.
