Mineral Point Unified School District is looking for a creative individual to teach General Music to grades K-5th and potentially 5th grade choir. Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate: • A passion for elementary music education and will impart that enthusiasm to their students. • A positive educator who develops relationships with students, staff, and community members. • Expertise in current music education teaching methods, differentiation, and use of technology to motivate and challenge students. • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to develop rapport with a wide range of students. • The ability to teach in collaboration with other music faculty and build a K-12 curriculum that promotes a seamless progression of musical knowledge and skills between grades. • Adaptive skills for a complex profession, including collaborative problem solving, differentiated communication, flexibility, and resourcefulness. • The ability to plan and conduct multiple performances throughout the year to showcase students. The elementary program provides Orff instruments, guitar and ukulele classroom sets, recorders, and many more instruments to provide students with a dynamic music education.
