MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS CATEGORICAL TEACHER
The Prescott School District seeks only individuals of the highest caliber whose creativity, enthusiasm and energy are contagious. Candidates must be able to demonstrate initiative and partner with teachers, related service providers, parents, and administration.
Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have experience and training working with students with a variety of special education needs, including academics, functional, behavioral, and social/emotional skills.
License requirements include one or more of the following:
Special education Cross-Categorical #801 and/or
Emotional Behavioral Disability #830 and/or
Specific Learning Disability #811, and/or
Intellectual/Cognitive Disabilities #810
*Emergency Licensure may be considered depending on the applicant pool.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training and experience working with students grades 6-8 with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities, other health impairments and/or other disabilities.
A strong knowledge of best practices, strategies, and interventions in the areas of reading, math, and written expression.
Design and delivery of instruction based on the Common Core Essential Elements (Alternative Standards).
Be able to create and implement social emotional and behavioral programming, strategies, and interventions.
The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and administration.
Ability to use evidence based data, instructional best practices, and frequent monitoring for program adjustments
Ability to complete due process requirements (IEPs etc) according to state and federal guidelines.
