The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible for the administration and management of all Board of Education policies regarding matters of personnel and employee relations. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing and managing the human resources processes in order to promote the overall effectiveness of the school district and to maximize quality staff selection, development, and retention through the available district opportunities and benefits.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Provides leadership in the development and administration of the overall human resource functions for the District.
• Plans, develops, and revises the Employee Policy Manual in accordance with state and federal legislation for submission to the board for adoption.
• Leads human resources practices and objectives that will enhance the human resource operations and elevate the District employee experience.
• Manages the hiring processes. Facilitates and oversees the recruitment and hiring process for new employees. Including: post/track open positions, review applicants, serve on the interview teams, conduct references and backgrounds, verify credentials, make offers of employment.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal workplace rules and guidelines, developing and implementing personnel policies, assisting staff in the understanding of the polices, and with Department of Public Instruction certification and licensure requirements.
• Maintains overall responsibility for the administration of the compensation and benefit systems in the District.
• Collaborates in the strategic planning and review of total compensation and benefit packages.
• Manages and oversees the annual employee contract process, nonrenewal process, employment letters and letters of intent, as needed based on staffing changes.
• Provides human resources support for District administration regarding employee relation matters.
• Supervises and evaluates human resources and payroll staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimally qualified applicants will have a master’s degree in administration or human resources. Additionally, have a successful experience working in public education and familiarity with the Wisconsin school employment law and state statute is preferred. Preferred applicants will have five years or more of successful human resources leadership experience.
This position requires a team-focused approach by an innovative thinker. The desired candidate will have strong problem solving skills and a passion to serve students and staff.

14 schools - 1 high school (grades 9-12); 2 middle schools (grades 7-8 and grade 6); 9 elementary schools (K-5); 1 charter elementary school (K-5) and 1 school of early learning (4K).

6,750 students, 730 total employees (500 certified staff, 200 non-certified staff and 30 administrators)
