OUR FUTURE: PREPARE. LEARN. LEAD. Come work at Mount Horeb Area School District! We are currently seeking to hire a highly dedicated School Social Worker at our Middle and High School. Our District was fortunate to receive a two year mental health grant to fund this position. This position will focus on the coordination of mental health needs of students and staff while also supporting students with ATODA (both preventative and reactive work). We look for individuals whose creativity, curiosity, enthusiasm and professionalism are contagious. What Your Day Will Look Like. The majority of your day will involve providing onsite, in person support to students in grades 6 - 12 and collaborating with the student services team at our middle and high schools around issues such as mental health, homelessness, poverty, trauma, and ATODA concerns. Support to students involves engaging, interacting and building strong relationships with the student and their families to create a safe, respectful, equitable and inclusive environment while maximizing their learning potential and well-being, connecting students and their families with resources within the community and county as needed, completing developmental histories for evaluations and participating and leading initiative (PBIS, RTL, Behavioral Coaching, Family Education). Our Ideal Candidate. *Valid Pupil Services license or ability to obtain (School Social Worker, School Counselor, School Psychologist) *Experience with the coordination of mental health services. *Knowledge and understanding of social work ethics and boundaries. *Ability to utilize social work skills commensurate with professional social work standards and ethics. *Experience working with middle and high school age students. *Bilingual applicants are preferred with the ability to understand and communicate with Spanish speaking students. *Passionate and engaging educators. *Demonstrated ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with all learners. *Ability to maintain a positive and safe learning environment. *Collaborative and solution oriented mindsets. *Ability to be flexible and adaptable, especially during times of change. *Demonstrates good communication skills, including ability to guide and supervise groups of students, maintain confidentiality, and work with students in a positive and motivational manner. *Demonstrates proficient office skills with computers and software. *Able to interact with others effectively, follow directions and initiate activities independently. *Enjoy working students and staff. In this grant funded position, the contracted Social Worker will receive a one year contract with the possibility of renewing the contract for the second year.
