The Howard-Suamico School District is expanding our substitute teaching staff and seeking new graduates from educator preparation programs who are interested in beginning their teaching career immediately following graduation. Our District is offering a $500 sign-on bonus to newly hired Substitute Teachers who complete a WECAN employment application and meet the eligibility criteria listed below between 12/9/21 - 1/31/22. Consider joining the HSSD team! Eligibility criteria includes: The applicant must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements and begin working immediately after employment processing. Must be a certified teacher or substitute teacher in the State of Wisconsin Must commit to working 3 days/week or more consistently through the 21-22 school year Must meet performance expectations and be in good standing through the 21-22 school year $500 will be paid 6/30/22 (subject to supplemental tax - 22% federal, 6.27% state plus standard payroll withholdings) In the absence of the regular teacher, or working collaboratively to co-teach and provide instructional support to our students, this position provides quality instruction/supervision and maintains a classroom climate that will enable each student to master skills appropriate to his/her age, grade level, and individual capacity as well as to develop socially and emotionally. Daily sub rate is $160.00, long-term assignments of six days consecutively or more are $190/day. Sub teachers who commit to three days a week will receive $170/day. Pay is reduced for less than full day assignments. The Howard-Suamico School District values the talents, knowledge and experiences that all individuals have to share with our learning community. The District may also consider short-term substitute applicants with desired, relevant qualifications such as successful prior experience providing direct instruction to youth or community-based experience working with youth and their families. Excellent communication skills, demonstrated empathy and compassion, and knowledge of content are characteristics and skills necessary for potential successful employment with the District.
