Educational Sign Language Interpreter
Position Type: Part-Time 2.67 hours/day - 13.35 hours per week , 8:35 am to 11:15 am
Position Summary: The Educational Interpreter interprets for deaf/hard of hearing students within regular and special education environments.
Primary Expectations:

8. Is a champion for students, believing all students can and will succeed.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Works directly with deaf/hard of hearing children in interpreting instructions provided by the teacher.
2. Informally evaluates the capability of deaf/hard of hearing students to understand instructions provided and assist in reinstruction when necessary.
3. Provides information to the teacher on how well the student is understanding the instructions presented.
4. Attends staff meetings and training sessions.
5. Abides by and supports the IEP document and related recommendations.
Qualifications:
1. Possesses a valid Interpreter License through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
2. Possesses a valid driver's license.
3. Possesses knowledge and expertise as an interpreter.
5. Ability to interpret verbal communications to deaf/hard of hearing children.
6. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other staff, other agencies, and the public.
