This individual will work with individual students or small group instruction to reinforce math and literacy skills. Candidates must have a desire to work with learners of all various backgrounds and abilities and must be prepared to perform other duties as identified in the position description.

The Mequon-Thiensville School District is a PK-12 district located along the coast of Lake Michigan in a northern suburb of Milwaukee that serves more than 3,500 students. POSITION DESCRIPTION
INTERVENTION AIDE – ELEMENTARY
Qualifications:
1. College degree strongly preferred
2. Dependable and conscientious with strong work ethic
3. Good communication skills
4. Ability to interact positively with staff, students and parents
5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Reports to:
Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, building Principal and building Reading Teacher
Performance Responsibilities:
• Under supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services and building reading teacher, works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce reading/writing and mathematics skills
• Assists the teacher in reinforcing reading, writing and mathematics strategies based on the understanding of individual students needs, interests and abilities
• Prepares lessons and maintains progress data on each student in collaboration with the classroom teacher
• Prepares tutoring materials and instruction aids in collaboration with the classroom teacher
• Supports small group instruction within the classroom setting
• Follows teacher directed discipline and behavior techniques
• Provides pertinent communication to regular education staff and building reading teacher regarding student performance
• Administers individual assessments under the direction of the building reading teacher
• Records data from assessments and keeps individual student portfolios
• Protects the confidentiality of all students
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned
