ABOUT CESA 1
Recipient of the Top Workplaces Award for four consecutive years, Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) #1 is all about students. CESAs were started over 50 years ago to partner with local school districts to provide high-quality educational and therapy services for students. Wisconsin is divided into 12 CESAs, with CESA #1 comprising six counties in southeastern Wisconsin. CESA #1 is home to 30,000 educators and more than 300,000 students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Registered Nurse duties may include assessing the health care needs of children and barriers to education, contributing to the IEP team with responsibility for summarizing and documenting health needs, and updating and/or developing written protocol and procedures to facilitate safe, consistent nursing care. Additionally, this individual may be responsible for working closely with counselors, school psychologists and school administration to provide an optimal learning environment and ensuring that each school's primary nursing needs are met according to Wisconsin Statutes, IDEA, Section 504, and ADA.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Registered Nursing license from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- 2-3 years of experience preferred, preferably in pediatrics or community health
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid or the ability to obtain it
- Experience with students with disabilities desired
- Knowledge of debilitating chronic conditions in pediatric clients preferred
- Able to manage a fast-paced service load while attending to detail
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy
