Part Time
The Individualized Youth Services (IYS) program employs part-time mentors to provide one-on-one mentoring services modeling appropriate peer relationships to kids ages 5-17 who have emotional behavior disorders. The IYS program is a community-based program utilizing community resources such as the YMCA, library, parks, and pools to assist our clients in developing positive daily living skills. Mentors utilize their own creative skills to engage clients and to help clients through crisis situations. Mentors are also responsible for providing transportation for our clients while in services. Mentors not only supervise our clients, they are also actively engaged in activities that our clients enjoy doing such as; swimming, biking, sledding, skating, playing sports, playing games/video games, and doing crafts. This is a very active, involved, and rewarding job. Mentors must be positive, energetic, and participate in client activities. Positions are available in Oshkosh and Fond du Lac.
 ROLE MODEL: Mentors need to exemplify upstanding behaviors and be a positive influence on clients. Mentors need to pass a thorough background check, which includes driving record.  ACTIVE PARTICIPATION: This is a very active job that will require you to enjoy engaging in activities that kids ages 5-17 enjoy. Mentors participate in all activities with our clients. Activities include: swimming, biking, skating, hiking, fishing, crafts, games, etc.  AVAILABILITY: Ability to work year-round. Available to work at least two shifts Monday – Friday from the early afternoon (latest start time is 2:30pm) through the early evening (approx. 7:30pm). Also available to work two weekends per month (approx. 9:00-4:30). We do not hire seasonal employees, must be willing to work at least 6 months consecutively.  TRANSPORTATION: Mentors must be able to use their own insured vehicle to transport clients.  RELIABLE, ACCOUNTABLE, ENERGETIC, CARING, PATIENT, POSITIVE, CREATIVE & FLEXIBLE with a strong desire to make a difference with challenging at-risk youth.
