Full Time
Kewaskum School District is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Secondary Math Coach/Interventionist to support student learning and teacher development at both the middle and high school levels.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as an on-site, job-embedded resource for teachers, providing immediate support and guidance.
  • Model lessons and co-teach with teachers to demonstrate effective instructional practices, especially new strategies or challenging content.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning and professional learning communities (PLCs), helping teams analyze student work and plan for differentiation and intervention.
  • Conduct classroom observations (non-evaluative) and provide timely, constructive feedback to help teachers refine their practice.
  • Support the implementation of the district's math curriculum, ensuring alignment with state and national standards (e.g., Common Core State Standards).
  • Analyze school-wide and classroom-level math data (e.g., benchmark assessments, common assessments, standardized test results) to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist teachers in differentiating instruction and assessment to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those who are struggling or advanced.
  • Lead school-based professional development workshops and training sessions focused on evidence-based mathematical pedagogy, content knowledge, and technology integration.
  • Curate and share high-quality instructional resources, tools, and research in mathematics education with the teaching staff.
  • Support teachers in developing and using high-quality formative and summative assessments that accurately measure student understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Creates developmentally-appropriate, meaningful math instruction and intervention programming based on best practice and research.
  • Delivers engaging intervention lessons using a variety of instructional strategies.
  • Acts in a professional, collaborative manner and engages in continuous growth.
  • Maintain deep content knowledge of secondary mathematics and current research in effective teaching and learning strategies.
