St. Germain Elementary School, Northland Pines Montessori, Land O’ Lakes Elementary and SOAR Middle School are looking for a dynamic School Counselor to join its fantastic team of educators! This School Counselor will work on the St. Germain campus and Land O’ Lakes Campus with students in 4K - 8th grade.  The Counselor will be responsible for ensuring that services are provided in alignment with the American School Counseling Association’s framework. Working as part of a Professional Learning Community, this role will involve working with students, staff, and families in two beautiful campuses with positive school culture.  
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ emotional and social development.

  • Teach classroom guidance lessons on topics like friendship, conflict resolution, emotions, and decision-making.

  • Identify and address student needs through observation, referrals, and communication with teachers and parents.

  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students’ academic and behavioral success.

  • Help create and implement behavior intervention plans when necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, a joyful demeanor, a commitment to ongoing professional growth, a desire to positively impact the community, and a strong work ethic.

  • Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, trauma-informed practices.

  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to collect and analyze behavioral data to inform programming.

 

REQUIRED

A valid Wisconsin certificate with DPI endorsement #966 or #964 (School Counselor), or the ability to obtain a DPI license with stipulations, is required.
