The Mukwonago Area School District, located approximately 25 miles southwest of Milwaukee, is seeking a special education teacher starting in August 2024 at Prairie View Elementary School. The position's primary caseload will consist of students with cross-categorical disabilities. This is a full-time regular position beginning with the 2024-25 school year.

Priority consideration will be given to dynamic, highly motivated candidates with demonstrated expertise in implementing effective intervention strategies in an inclusive (“push in”) model. Preference will also be given to candidates with training and experience working with students with a variety of behavioral needs as well as those who have experience using data to diagnose, intervene, monitor, and adjust instruction based on the individual needs of students. The ability to plan and deliver direct instruction to small groups of students in reading, math, and other subjects; and a record of working collaboratively with regular education colleagues to support students' growth is also preferred.

Qualifications include excellent communication skills and the ability to relate positively with parents. The selected candidate must demonstrate expertise in team problem-solving processes and the use of instructional technology. The successful candidate must also possess strong classroom management skills and knowledge of the IEP process. The finalist for this position will join a dedicated group of teachers to work cooperatively within the department and other professional learning communities to improve student learning.

Job requirements include the completion of a program in special education, and the candidate must possess or be eligible for a (1801) Cross Categorical Special Education license through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
