CESA 5 currently has an open position for a paraprofessional supporting students at the Wild Rose Middle/High School. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Special Education Classroom Aide assists teachers in planning, delivery, and evaluation of instruction provided to special education students. *Applicant must either possess or be eligible to apply for DPI Special Education Aide license.* Common Expectations: 1. Projects a positive attitude and image to customers, partners, and the public. 2. Possesses and demonstrates positive interpersonal communication skills. 3. Pursues continuous professional improvements. 4. Maintains confidentiality regarding internal matters of the Agency and complies with legal confidentiality requirements. 5. Complies with Agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures, practices, and administrative directives. 6. Possesses strong organizational and time management skills. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Works directly with special education students as directed by the classroom teacher. 2. Organizes and participates in group activities. 3. Supervises recess, lunch, and other student activities as directed by the classroom teacher. 4. Assists in the overall supervision of the classroom and other activities. 5. Creates and organizes classroom materials as directed. 6. Participates in meetings when requested. 7. Attends staff meetings and training sessions 8. Records student data as directed. Secondary Responsibilities: 1. Assists with the operation of the overall program and program facility. 2. Performs other duties as assigned.
Applicant must either possess or be eligible to apply for DPI Special Education Aide license. Previous experience working with students with significant intellectual and physical disabilities is preferred. 1. Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Possesses or is eligible to apply for a valid Special Education Aide License through the Department of Public Instruction. 3. Ability to meet Department of Public Instruction criteria for a highly-qualified paraprofessional is desired. 4. Possesses a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as per CESA 5. 5. Ability to apply knowledge of special education record keeping, principles, practices, and procedures. 6. Ability to apply in-depth knowledge current technology. 7. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other staff, other agencies, and the public.
