Marinette School District is seeking a passionate, dedicated and student-focused individual to join our team as the Middle School Assistant Principal. The position will be responsible for assisting the building Principal in providing school-wide leadership and assisting with the supervision of all professional and support staff. Responsibilities: - Assists the principal in the general administration of the school and serves as the principal in the absence of the building principal. - Supervises and evaluates phases of the educational program in the building as assigned and initiates programs and organizations within the adopted course of study. - Assists in analysis of the effectiveness of curriculum and where indicated recommends changes in in-service curricular activities. - Directs, in consultation with the principal, the preparation of the student handbook. - Supervises the general conduct of the school and assists the principal in establishing procedures in the maintenance of pupil discipline and referral processes. - Helps to provide leadership for the student body. - Receives initial referrals on pupil discipline problems as may be submitted by the staff and adjudicates disciplinary matters in a manner in keeping with the policies of the board of education and due process rights of the student. - Maintains data and appropriate records of disciplinary actions and keeps in close contact with parents regarding such actions. - Assists in the recruitment, screening, hiring for the instructional and non-instructional staff of the school. - Assists in the evaluation and the analysis of the performance of the instructional and non-instructional staff and helps develop a program for continued improvement. - Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works as truant officer for investigative follow-up action. - Serves with parent, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives. - Assists in guiding the staff in shared decision making, teaming and a collaborative approach to solve problems and continually improve the education process.
