KINDERGARTEN TEACHER (5K) The School District of Spring Valley is seeking a Kindergarten (5K) teacher to start in August 2022. Required qualifications: • The successful candidate must possess an Early Childhood license or an Elementary Education license that includes prekindergarten or kindergarten. • Applicants should be able to create a student-centered, nurturing and engaging environment, • Possess a strong background and understanding in teaching reading, writing, and math to various learning levels, • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, • Effectively plan, implement and assess student learning, • Employ current teaching strategies and methodologies, • Be skilled in incorporating quality-learning opportunities that create a positive classroom environment, • Facilitate parent involvement, • Coordinate curriculum as part of a collaborative PLC team. • Experience with PBIS strategies and Tools of the Mind curriculum is preferred. The campus is located on beautiful, rural acreage two miles from downtown. The modern high school with middle school wing for grades 6, 7, and 8 was built in 1998. The newly built elementary school opened in the fall of 2021. The district is technology-rich with all students and staff having one-to-one Chromebooks and laptops, mini-labs, and iPads, in addition to 4 traditional computer labs. The district also has the latest in livestreaming technology, 3D printers, and various other task-specific technology resources. A robust commercial WiFi system is available throughout the buildings. The school district offers strong academics and co-curricular activities with students receiving state level recognition in a wide variety of activities. There are 385 children in PK-5 and 376 students in grades 6-12. Maximum class size is 18 students for Kindergarten. The school district staff consists of 3 administrators, 54 teachers, and 52 support personnel.
