Position Summary: The Teacher is responsible for the daily education for children enrolled in the School. The role includes implementing and facilitating a rigorous and developmentally appropriate learning experience with high quality standards-aligned lessons. Practice must also comply with standards set forth by the Felician Sisters of North America, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Milwaukee/Wisconsin Parental Choice Programs, and federal guidelines. The Teacher ensures that the needs of all children and their families are met to the best of the teacher's and the Academy's abilities. Position Reports to: Principal Qualifications: • BS Degree in Education required, DPI Certification preferred • 1+ years successful experience in elementary, middle, or high school setting • Bilingual speaker (Spanish) preferred, not required • Exemplary interpersonal, collaborative, and planning skills • Enthusiasm and ability to support children and their families • Proficient in Google Suite products and office equipment • Ability to analyze an area of improvement, identify options, and offer or implement solutions • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in all departments of the Academy • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) and effectively interact with children, family members, management, and staff members • Ability to respond positively to direction or guidance from teammates or supervisors • Ability to effectively work independently and within a team Equipment Used: Laptops, SmartBoards, document cameras, printers, phone system, photocopier. Physical and Mental Requirements: Must have ability to sit (25%), walk/stand (75%), routinely throughout the shift. Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 lbs. Must have functional senses/manual dexterity to carry out the job; communicate effectively; and use of classroom/office equipment. Must have the ability to deal effectively with the potential stress of managing emergency or critical situations and multiple tasks.
