Mineral Point Unified School District is seeking an administrative assistant to support the Special Education and Pupil Services department. This is a 210 day contract where the administrative assistant works 38.5 hours per week. The person in this position works from the elementary school office and assists with answering general questions and providing information to students, staff and families. As a point of contact for parents and community members the person in this position must display a positive and professional demeanor, positive interpersonal skills and have strong oral and written communication skills. Strong candidates will be comfortable using technology. He/she will demonstrate organizational skills, time management skills, and adapt to changes as they occur. Attention to details and working efficiently by using all resources available will be important when asked to multi-task. The person hired for this position will have access to sensitive student information and confidentiality is critical. Comfortable with or willing to learn *Student Information System (Skyward) *DPI portals including OPAL and HOMER *Electronic Data System for special education (SEEDS) *WISEdata reporting *School Based Services for Medicaid Billing (Kompas Care) In addition to general office duties, the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to *Complete enrollment and registration for families new to the district *Oversee open enrollment and alternate open enrollment for the district *Oversee families selecting home school options *Compute high cost aid and actual open enrollment cost specific to special education services *Assist with identification and outreach under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act *Create contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and mailings for special education and pupil services *Record and maintain student records for elementary and special education *Assist with organization and outreach for child development screening *Upload rosters, users, and accommodations for online learning or assessment platforms (e.g. IXL, Renaissance)
