Summary: The purpose of the Pupil Services Director position is to assume the primary leadership responsibilities for the development, coordination, and evaluation of the special education, pupil services, ELL, health services, and At-Risk programs of the District. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations; supervise Pupil Services and related services staff assigned to evaluation teams and specialized programs; provide leadership as assigned to district programs and services; collaborate with district office leaders, building administration, and site-level staff/departments.
Education/Experience Required:
Current valid Wisconsin Director of Special Education/Pupil Services Administrative License (or in-process)
A minimum of a graduate degree or license certification in Pupil Services or a related area
Valid Wisconsin driver's license
Preferred five years or more of successful teaching and/or building leadership experience
Preferred three or more years of experience in special education, psychology, social work, and/or guidance
Preferred two or more years of principal, district administrative, or supervisory experience in special education; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Knowledge of guidelines for homeless students

Knowledge of school improvement planning processes
Skilled in problem analysis, data collection, and problem-solving
Knowledge of and ability to work with special needs learners
Ability to make decisions and act within the district and program policies, procedures, and guidelines
Ability to meet the needs of diverse learners
Ability to work as a team member
Ability to organize, direct and administer programs and personnel
Knowledge of program/budget management
Ability to work in a diverse environment
Advanced current knowledge of technical concepts, processes, and/or procedures
Knowledge of effective behaviors support strategies
Knowledge of Title I & III compliance
Ability to uphold data privacy and confidentiality
Knowledge of Pupil Services compliance
