Come work at Mount Horeb Area School District! We are currently seeking to hire a highly dedicated Wheelchair Van Driver beginning for the 2025-2026 school year. We strive to hire individuals who are determined to see all students succeed, cognizant of their mindset, a champion of equity and results-oriented. Applicants must be committed to continuous improvement and skilled at fostering mutually respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community members. What Your Day Will Look Like:
The majority of your day will be spent transporting students to and from regularly scheduled locations while following strict time schedules. While en route you will be required to maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure safety as well. You will also be responsible for checking the condition of the van and reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs. You will be required to comply with traffic regulations to operate in a safe and courteous manner.
What We Offer:
The starting van driver's pay is $25.69/route (approximately 1-1.5 hours per route). Pay can be adjusted based upon experience.
MHASD also provides sign-on, return-to-work, and end-of-year bonuses!

Our Ideal Candidate:
*High school diploma or equivalency.
*Holds a valid Driver's License
*Must be able to make sound and immediate decisions at any given time based on traffic and road conditions and bus operations;
*Pick up/deliver passengers safely per daily schedule and dispatch ride assignments which could vary;
*Operate van in safe manner and follow driver policies/procedures;
*Understand and follow Wisconsin DOT, District, Agency, and Program laws/requirements/guidelines;
*Immediately inform supervisor of identified or suspected mechanical problems;
*Complete pre and post trip van inspections/reports during scheduled hours;
*Inform passengers of transportation program policy, procedures, and schedule;
*Provide positive public relations by maintaining a clean van and maintaining an appropriate appearance;
*Treat and assist passengers/families in a courteous, positive, friendly and professional manner and confront situations tactfully;
*Maintain a safe driving record;
*Other duties as may be assigned.
*Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
