Berlin Middle School (BMS) is looking for an energetic, dedicated and innovative educator to join our staff. The successful candidate would understand that teaching begins with relationships and that students are better suited for success when they have relevance in their learning. BMS is committed to utilizing engaging strategies in every lesson to get students to talk about their learning.
Berlin Middle School is a community of 275 students that engages all learners with caring adults and offers a wide variety of opportunities for students to explore their interests and strengths. We focus on the whole child in academics so students are highly supported in the core academic areas, while allowing them to explore various electives from art, music, foreign language, physical education and health, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW). We focus on the social-emotional development of adolescents and skills that will make them ready for their futures beyond the Berlin Area School District.
Berlin Middle School is one of three schools that make up the Berlin Area School District. Clay Lamberton Elementary (4K-5) and Berlin High School (9-12) sit on the same campus as Berlin High School and serve as a hub of activity for the greater Berlin community. The Berlin Area School District is composed of 14 municipalities, with the City of Berlin at the center. Berlin is a rural community with a population of 5,500 located approximately 20 minutes west of Oshkosh and 10 minutes north of Green Lake. The Fox River runs through the center of the historic Victorian downtown. Agriculture, health services, education, light industry and retail shops comprise Berlin’s economy.
The ideal candidate would be effective in the following areas:

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math lessons that foster critical thinking and support the diverse learning needs of middle school students

Utilize formative and summative assessment data to scaffold instruction, identify learning gaps, and drive student achievement in alignment with math standards.

Make authentic connections with students and partner with parents to maximize engagement.

Collaborate with colleagues in a PLC model for growth of all students.

Establish a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.

Maintain high expectations for students and self.
Requirements: Three years of experience preferred.
Salary, benefits, and length of contract: This position works a 190-day contract with a salary not less than $46,893 and an excellent benefits package.
