Tigerton School District is looking for a School Social Worker or School Counselor to work primarily at our elementary school for the 24-25 school year.
Tigerton is a small rural community located in Shawano County. The school district has approximately 250 students in 4K-12 split between two buildings, along with a child care center located at the MS/HS building. We have a competitive salary schedule that includes longevity bonuses, bonus for in district residents, and a daycare on site with reduced rates! We also offer a cash in lieu of health insurance option.
Job Qualifications and Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with building staff to establish and maintain a positive mental health and behavioral culture in the school.
Communicate effectively with families, particularly as related to challenging student circumstances and issues.
Facilitate/participate in structured problem-solving process.
Design and implement effective interventions for students, including consulting with and training of staff on monitoring fidelity of implementation.
Conduct small group and individual counseling.
Consult with outside providers (medical professionals, therapists, etc.) on student needs.
Connect students/families with outside resources (county, community, etc.) as appropriate.
Facilitate collaborative FBA, Behavioral Plans, and an understanding of how to differentiate learning goals to meet students’ behavioral and academic needs.
The candidate must demonstrate exceptional skill in the roles of a teacher leader: collaborator, action researcher, reflective practitioner and learner advocate, and organizational systems agent of change. The candidate must also possess exemplary communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively with students, families, staff, and community agencies.
