The School District of Tigerton seeks a dynamic, energetic, and innovative cross-categorical special education teacher to join us for the 2024-2025 school year. This 50% position will primarily work with grades 4K-5. Our elementary school offers an outstanding teacher/pupil ratio and one-to-one technology available to all our students. Qualifications:

The ability to collaborate with special and regular education team members to support student progress and programming. Sincere and supportive communication, and inclusive practices with parents and the team is essential. Experience in delivering specialized instruction to address student needs in literacy or math with the ability to monitor progress and interpret data to make instructional decisions. Knowledge of strategies, tools, and evidence-based practices to work with students with behavioral needs and the ability to function with the team to develop behavioral plans, social stories, visual strategies, and self-advocacy for independence. Ability to use assistive technology tools for all students. Ability to train, support, and teach programming to teacher assistants for carryover in all settings. The teacher can create transition plans and follow through with activities to support student interests and needs. Willingness to learn on the job and be part of a team focused on student growth and success.
